Harvey has been a hairdresser for over five decades. After graduation from beauty school in 1970, he started working at this very salon. In 1972, Harvey bought the salon and joined the National Cosmetology Association (NCA). He also taught for the Minnesota Hair Fashion Committee for over 15 years, and won numerous competitions and awards at that time throughout the country. He continues his education regularly to keep up on the latest trends and shares his experience with other staff members daily. On the occasion that he’s not working, Harvey can be found supporting his local community. He’s the former president of the MN Ballet Board. Harvey has built a reputation for himself and his salon with many years of hard work and consistently pleasing his clients. This isn’t just a job, it’s his passion and that shows in his work. He takes pride in what he does, whether in the salon or out in the community. He says you’ll still see him behind the chair when he is 100 years old.
After more than 2 decades, I still wake up everyday, excited to be part of an industry that creates magic daily. Having been part of the Minnesota Artistic Team early in my career, I have been gifted with the wisdom of so many. I hope to continue my growth and evolve with all of our clients and the amazing A Touch of Plasch team.
Alex has been a hairstylist since 2009 and has loved every minute. He specializes in creating unique and fabulous hairstyles, that are not only fun, but easy to recreate. He has prided himself in helping his clients learn more about their hair and how to work with it.
Over the last decade, Alex's skills and knowledge have grown. He has a hard work ethic and is not afraid to go the extra mile for his clients.
Alex is a former member of the Duluth Area Professionals chapter of BNI Minnesota, which is a world-wide networking group. Through that, he has created valuable alliances with many other pillars of the northland community.
"What I think most important, are my clients. Without them, I am nothing. The reason is the connection between them and me. The laughter, the tears. I have been there through new babies, marriages, and new jobs. I also have walked down the roads of sickness, divorces, and loss. Each appointment can bring something entirely new, but I wouldn't trade a single second of that for anything. I plan to work until my body can no more, and as long as I have my clients by myside, I will be happy."
Passionate. Experienced. Artistic.

Terry has been doing hair for over 50 years. In addition to being active in the salon she has also been an instructor at the beauty school and the Director of the MN Hair Fashion Committee. In 1972, Terry joined the NCA and later became President of the Duluth Chapter. She is no stranger to this industry and her years of experience have given her a lot of knowledge. Terry loves what she does and continues her training with classes two to three times a year. She focuses on cuts, colors and perms; her co-workers compliment her on her precise techniques. Terry prides herself on being a good listener and enjoys making every client look amazing.
Mandy has been at A Touch of Plasch all of her life. Some of the clients even remember the day she was born! As the daughter of Harvey and Terry, she has been part of this industry since she can remember.
After 25 years behind the desk, Mandy decided it was time for something new. She earned her lash technician license in 2019, and then her body art license in 2021. After her apprenticeship ended in October of 2022, Mandy took on a full-time business of eyelash extensions and permanent makeup here at the salon with us. Her business is aptly called TOP Microblading and Lash. Mandy really has an eye for creating beautiful brows that suit each individual client and her lash clients keep coming back for those perfect lashes every time. Call us today to schedule an appointment for a set of classic lash extensions or a consultation for beautiful brows from Mandy.
Working with hair is more than just a job for Angel. It’s been a passion for many years. She always strives to make you look and feel your very best! Her goal is to make you feel the same sense of pride with your hairstyle that she felt creating it.
A graduate of Northwood Technical College (formerly WITC), Angel moved to Duluth from the Twin Cities in 2015. Her career with A Touch of Plasch began in 2019 and has given her the ability to showcase her many talents behind the chair. Sure, she can cut hair. Any age, any style, any challenge. Over and above this, Angel’s specialty lies in color. Specifically, fun fashion looks with vivid color. Want to make a bold statement? Look no further. But what sets her apart from other stylists is her attention to YOU. Her devotion shines through in her thorough consultations before every service. She wants you to be comfortable with every aspect of the process. And she never wants you to feel your needs are not heard. Her happiness comes from yours.
Outside of work, Angel lives with her partner Nik in their Morgan Park home. A passionate animal lover, she keeps what she lovingly calls a “mini zoo” comprised of 1 dog, 4 cats, and over 20 different reptiles. Her talent, and her heart shine through each and every day.
An eclectic ball of artistic energy, Michelle has always had a passion for the arts, especially in fashion and beauty. A visually driven individual, she always feels the need to find, or create beauty in things. In 2019, at age 28, she decided to finally pursue a career in the beauty industry.
She thrives when she can be creative and use her love of art and design behind the chair. Having hairstyling become a collaborative effort between stylist in client is her goal. Her personal style, she finds, is an important way to connect with her clients. "Sid Vicious meets Audrey Hepburn- and everything in between" Michelle states as she tries to describe where she pulls inspo. This juxtaposition of style gives her the ability to find joy in both statement haircuts and specialty colors, as well as beautiful dimensional colors and traditional haircuts. She doesn't put herself in a box. She likes to think she can master it all someday!
You may see her shadowing other stylists in her downtime. She is always striving to learn more. Continuing education and the need to sharpen her technical skills is very important to her. "You could be the best and still have more room to grow." In her ever evolving and changing industry, it's key!
She feels honored to work alongside such talent at A Touch of Plasch. Thankful and excited for the future! Whether its shadowing, going on education t5rips, or building strong client/stylist relations, Michelle is always at it, striving for the best!
Jenica has been in love with the beauty industry for as long as she can remember. Originally from International Falls, Jenica moved to the Duluth area in 2019. She completed the cosmetology program at Northwood Technical College in Superior, graduating spring of 2022 with honors. Jenica has knowledge in hair, makeup, and nails- but has a passion for hair color transformations and hair extensions. Eager to learn, she is constantly continuing her education to learn all the new trends and styles. If you’re looking to just relax and have a good conversation while you get pampered, come see Jenica for any of your beauty needs!
Front Desk Coordinator
Mia was raised with her adolescence split between Barnum and Grand Portage, considering them both home in her heart. At 21, she moved to Duluth and began working at A Touch of Plasch, at the recommendation of her brother-in-law, Alex, who’d been a stylist at the salon for as long as Mia could remember.
A life-long fan of colorful hair and working around artists, she jumped at the opportunity, especially as she was already studying for her Administrative Office diploma. She loves being the Front Desk Coordinator, talking to dozens of people a day, helping them book appointments and find a stylist that best matches their needs, offering coffee and a smile.
